There are so many quality tool manufactures in the market place. It is often interesting to learn the different history of these companies. many tool companies can trace there history to the early 20th century.

in 1923 the Dewalt tool company was founded when Raymond E DeWalt was tasked in getting more production out of a wood mill. He was told he could not increase payroll so he found a way to make his labor more effective. Raymond hooked the saw to a arm and yoke.. The saws new ability reduced the need for the labour of 4 men. Mr. Dewalt effectively inventing what we call the Radial Arm saw ,and Dewalt tools was born.

Milwaukee tools can also follow it's history back to the 1920's. Milwaukee tools was originally owned by A.H Peterson. Petersen was approached by the father of American production line Henry Ford. Petersen was asked by Ford to come up with a 1/4” portable power drill. Petersen created a 5 pound drill powered by a Westinghouse electric motor. Petersen's drill could be operated in one hand instead of the 2 handed drils used in Ford's plant.

Herny Ford loved the way Petersen's hole shooter saved him money in saved labour. Peterson's innovation to tool design enabled Ford to place drills in more of his employees hands and increase production. The Petersen Plant had a horrible fire that eventually closed the company. Petersen's plant was purchased at auction in 1924 and became Milwaukee tools.

the Milwaukee tools company continued in the tradition of Mr Petersem.H. continues to improve the tool industry. Milwaukee's hole shooters were used to build the airplanes that ultimately helped America win world war two. In modern times Milwaukee Tools innovated the tool industry again by being the first company to use lithium-ion battery technology in their Milwaukee V28 Cordless tool series.
